Reginald’s Fortune

Reginald's Fortune
Reginald’s Fortune

Reginald’s rascally uncle finds himself on the verge of ruin, and conceives of a heartless scheme to tide himself over his financial trouble.
His plan, to his own surprise, involves several personages not contemplated in the original conception; and as obstacles arise, he is forced to descend to deeper infamy to screen himself from exposure and punishment.

Written by Mrs. Harriet Newell (O’Brien) Lewis (1841-1878) and first published in serial form in 1869.
40 chapters, 139,000 words. Street and Smith Chimney Corner  Series Issue No. 116. Reprinted in New Zealand Herald in 1891.
